FABRIC ART
Barvennon.com
began
it's existence as the website of a wool producer. Time has
passed, and the wool farm has followed inevitable economic processes
and been absorbed into a larger farm, gaining thereby the advantages of
scale. The former farmer has moved on, and has reincarnated as a
fabric artist.
My workshop is a studio in my home in
Paddington, Sydney. Currently my portfolio is quite
limited. I have photographs of some lengths of fabric (velveteen
mostly) as samples of the work that I have done. In addition I
provide photographs of recent artwork. The cotton shirts are
variously tiedyed or tiebleached, then printed with "one off" patterns
from which I produce between 10 and 30 prints. These shirts can
be made to order, in the sense that a buyer can specify the fabric
(natural fibers only) the predominant colour and the subject matter of
the screenprint. Shirts cost $100 each.
As
my
art portfolio expands I will upload designs to these pages.
The
medium will be non-synthetic fabrics, and the mode silk screen printing
and tie dying.
